Fairbanks is a home rule city and the borough seat of the Fairbanks North Star Borough in the U.S. state of Alaska. Fairbanks is the largest city in the Interior region of Alaska, and second largest in the state, after Anchorage.
This is the only city we visited that lies east of the mountain range. As a result, it was warmer than the rest of Alaska and we didn't find it nearly as attractive as the rest of the state. As a matter of fact, the temperature was suppose to get to 90 degrees the day we left.
We were only in Fairbanks one day and spent the entire day on tours. As a result, other than the two tours we took, Steamboat Discovery and Gold Dredge 8, the only photos we have from Fairbanks were taken at the fairwell dinner.
